As a child, Silbermann enjoyed collecting things, from insects to stamps. "What you collect says so much about who you are, he mused.” He states his bug collection is Pinterest 1.0

IN HIGH SCHOOL

Silbermann attended Theodore Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa. There he competed in both speech and debate attending the National Tournament, and played the cello. During his time in high school he was admitted into the Research Science Institute at MIT, a competitive summer science and engineering program designed for high school seniors. He graduated in 1999, and went on to attend Yale.

IN COLLEGE / UNIVERSITY

Ben Silbermann in university, earned a political science degree from Yale university. He graduated in 2003. He had a few jobs after university but felt restless, This basically is him saying I don't wanna work for somebody else anymore. He then was inspired by the web 2.0 movement and he started working on the app. It was said as a child he always liked to collect things and I feel like Pinterest was inspired by that to have the ability to share your things with other people seamlessly online.
