Sergey Brin is a computer scientist who managed to create the world’s best website, Google with Larry Page, who is also a computer scientist.

Early Life

Sergey Mikhaylovich Brin was born on August 21, 1973, in Moscow, Russia. Sergey’s father was a soviet mathematician economist. In 1979, the Brin family decided to move to the United States of America to avoid the persecution of the Jewish people.

In College/University

Sergey Brin got his undergraduate mathematics computer engineering degree from the University of Maryland at College Park, and after that, enrolled at Stanford University, where he met Larry Page.

Brin and Page found a search engine that shows listed results accordingly to its popularity of the pages, when they were in Stanford University. They decided to name it Google, because of the mathematical term, “googol” which means 1 followed by 100 zeros.

They raised approximately 1 million dollars to launch their project and launched it in 1988. The headquarter of Google was located in California Silicon Valley and in August 2004, they had its own initial public offering, where Brin and Page became both billionaires. Later on, Google was the most popular search engine in the world and people began to use their search engine system, Google more and more often, receiving an average of a trillion searches a day.
