Anne Boden is a founder of Starling FS in 2014, which eventually became Starling Bank in 2016. Based in London, Starling Bank provides a mobile banking application and a debit card that enables users to manage their finances. Leading the charge to deliver fair and innovative financial services.
Boden was born (January 1960) in Bon-y-maen a suburb of Swansea, the daughter of a steelworker and a department store worker.
She went to Cefn Hengoed Comprehensive Community School in Swansea.
She graduated from Swansea University in 1981 with a degree in Chemistry and Computer Sciences.
Boden earned her MBA from Middlesex University in 1990 while working for Standard Chartered.
Anne was awarded an MBE in June 2018 for services to Financial Technology.
In 2011 she served on the Board of Governors of Middlesex University, which awarded her an honorary doctorate degree in July 2018.
